12 Things You Should Expect in a Good CRM

Having the right CRM in your business could mean the difference between success and BIG success ... or maybe even success and failure!

Most brokers have some sort of CRM - but is yours the best one for you? Here's just some of the questions you might want to ask:

Q. Who owns your CRM?
Many brokers rely on their aggregator's system. If there's a falling out (or they no longer exist) you suddenly have no system. Now that's exposure!

Q. Does your CRM independently check your commissions?
Most CRM's record details of clients - but rarely provide an independent  check of broker commissions. We speak with several brokers every day and most tell us that, once they start checking carefully, they discover they are short-paid around $500-$600 every month. That soon mounts up.

Q. Can your data be "borrowed"?
It's not just the Privacy Act you have to worry about. Unless your CRM is resident entirely on your own computers you have no guarantee that it wont be used to market other services - whether authorised or not. This could be taking away revenue for additional services, like insurance, that you plan to offer your Clients later. (Of course, there's always the possibility of outright theft, too).

Tough economic conditions mean you need to be a little more street-smart and protect your interests.
